Welcome to the IPMS Roscoe Turney January 2007 newsletter.
We have a location change for the January meeting and possible room change for the February meeting.
More on that later in the newsletter.
1. The location for the january meeting will be at MCL cafeteria at 5520 Castleton Corner
Ln. The location is approximately located at the intersection of Allisonville Rd. and East 86th.
Street and is located near the Borders bookstore. The meeting starts at 7:00pm and we will have
access to the room at 6:30pm.
The February meeting will be in room #25 back at the regular school location. We will decide at
this meeting if we like this room better than the cafeteria.
2. During this meeting we will have a Christmas white elephant gift exchange. The exact
rules of the exchange will be revealed at the meeting, however below are some guidelines for
bringing kits:
A. The kit should be complete and unstarted, with all parts present.
B. NO DOGS!!! Bring a kit that you would like to receive as a gift. Agan, NO DOGS!!!!
C. The suggested price range is $15 - $25 a kit. Feel free to bring a more expensive kit
if you desire.
D. Wrap it, but no labels
E. Have fun!
3. During this meeting the club will be collecting the $12.00 2007 club dues, please see
Ken Kindler.
Also, please bring a blue shirt (no t-shirts) to the meeting to be embroidered with the club logo.
Contact Angelo if you have a question regarding the logos. I believe the club will be paying for
one shirt to be embroidered with the logo, I am unsure about requests concerning multiple shirts.
4. Contest information:
If anyone is interested in sponsoring a trophy for the March 10th show, please contact me. Al
Grimm has volunteerd to be in charge of the raffle and Tom Choy will be heading the registration
tables.
We still need volunteers for judging, contest room security and to help at the raffle and
registration tables. In addition, if we want to have a club vendor table, we will need people to
volunteer to run the table. Please see Angelo Deogracias if you can help.
5. Upcoming events:

Region 4 2007 Spring Invitational (aka BlizzardCon)
Aladdin Shrine Center
3850 Stelzer Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43219

6. Upcoming club events:
FEBRUARY - Record breakers - Anything or anyone that broke any record. Be creative,
sponsored by Al Grimm.
MARCH - Picture collection - Bring in any hobby related pictures that you have.
APRIL - Desert Warfare - From North Africa to Afghanistan. Two categories, Ground or Aircraft,
sponsord by Erik Fox.
7. Rusty Keeler has the following request:
I'm looking for an A4 Skyhawk walk around book if anyone has an extra one that they would like
to unload.
I'm also looking for the Monogram 1:72nd scale Boeing F4B biplane. If anyone has one of these
sitting around that they don't intend to build I would be interested in it. I'm looking for a
total of three so that I can build a whole section.
8. An updated club roster will available once all the members have paid their 2007 dues.
I would like to make this available to the membership at or before the February meeting. I will
be bringing a current roster to the January meeting to make any necessary corrections. I have a
current list but it has a lot of pen marks and I want to make sure everything is correct.
9. Please keep bringing any models to the meeting, completed or started. The more models,
the better the meeting! This means you, Spam!!!
10. This notice was accidentally left out of the december newsletter. Steve Pavy gave me
information regarding a program that is accepting donations (unsure if kits or cash, contact
Steve for clarification) to help wounded veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. If you
wish to donate, contact the following person:
Roger Chapin, president
Help Hospitalized Veterans
P.O. Box 98088
Washington D.C.
20090-8088
My apologies to Steve for not putting this in the previous newsletter.
That is all for now. Please contact me if there is something you want to add to the newsletter,
be it something you want to buy or sell or if you have a burning desire to write an article
for the newsletter.
However, please keep the Britney pictures to yourself and I'll see you all at the next meeting.
