Welcome to the IPMS Roscoe Turner February 2007 Newsletter.
Hello to everyone and welcome to the February 2007 edition of the IPMS Roscoe Turner newsletter.
After a very fun and successful meeting at MCL, the upcoming meeting will return to the elementary
school. We might be trying out room #25 at the school or staying in the cafeteria. The reason for
the possible change is more lighting could be available in the other room. We won't know until
Friday if the room is available, so continue to park and enter through the same door.
1. The club is needing people to volunteer to help with Registration, Judging, Security and
to help with the Raffle. Sign up sheets will be available at the meeting this friday. Please pick
a job and sign up. The greatest need is for Registration volunteers.
2. Donations are also needed for the club raffle table. Please bring a kit that is either
sealed or if it has been opened, please be certain that all sprue bags are sealed and the
instructions and decals are present in the box. Please NO DOGS!! Bring a kit only if you would
want to win it in the raffle.
3. If you had a shirt embroidered with the club logo, they will be available at the Friday
meeting for pick up.
4. If you haven't already paid your dues ($12.00), please do so at the friday meeting. An
updated club roster will be made available once dues have been paid.

From Erik:
I am looking for a shop or website in the U.S. that carries Real Model products. VLS (modelmecca.com)
is discontinuing this line and I am looking for their BTR-T conversion. Any ideas on where to
look are greatly appreciated.
8. We have received this request from the IPMS club in Pittsburgh:
Hello Gentlemen,
This is an update on the 2007 regional. We have a great venue and we are working very hard to
make this years regional a great success. At our meeting last night it was suggested that we
contact the other clubs in the region and ask if each club would be willing to provide one
member who would be willing to help judge.
So I'm asking if each of you would be willing to take this request to your members to see if at
least one person who will be attending the show would be willing to help us judge. We don't
think were short on people, but were hoping that we won't have to scramble around during the
show to round people up to help. I'm sure you understand what I mean.
If anyone has any questions pease let me know and I hope to see all of you on the 30th of March!
Sincerely,
Scott Scariot
President IPMS Three Rivers/Pittsburgh
9. For those of you who might be interested in a new military history website:
I got some info from DLC Dick that we would like passed along to your clubs. Read it and either
send it to your members or tell them about it at your next meeting. It doesn't have to be "IPMS
Approved" to be good but since it came from the Home Office that's what I'm calling it.
Thanks.

www.historicalwarfare.com is a new web site for those interested in military history. It aims to
bring the different aspects of Military History together on to one site, to create a one stop
web site to save those interested in military history the one thing few of us have a lot of,
time.
We firmly believe that while many people are passionate about a specific period or a specific
way of recreating that period, few are blinkered to the degree they ignore other areas.
Historical Warfare is a subscription web site because we believe that subscription web sites
offer a better user experience that are not reliant on advertising to pay the bills. Consequently
no pop up ads, banner ads or Google ads. This also allows the site to be impartial. We appreciate
that www.historicalwarfare.com is not fully developed yet, so consequently, in January we are
offering a permanent subscription rate of $1.95 a month. If you join in January 07, that is all
you will ever pay, until you decide to cancel.
For IPMS-USA members, we are also offering 10 days free trial. Just use the promotional code
MMJAN when joining. This will allow IPMS members to have alook and see if it is of interest, at
no cost. We will keep this offer open until the end of February.
If you could forward this via your regional network, it would be greatly appreciated. Apologies
to those I have already sent something to.
Best wishes
Adam Hill, Editor
Well, I think that is it for now. Be on the lookout for the "cheesecake" guidelines and if you
have any suggestions or just wish to contribute an article to the newsletter, please let me
know.
