6. We still need additional volunteers for the 2007 contest. Contact Angelo if you wish
to volunteer.
7. Dana Griffith has sent in the following modelling tip for filling seams:
An updated modelling idea that I have graduated from the Elmers tan waterbased wood putty in
the little tub. I've switched to the Elmer's white waterbased wood filler that comes in a
squeeze tube. You can find it at most any store that has a hardware department, including my
PX, for a couple of bucks.
Just squeeze a glop in a pallet basin, add a drop or two of water and stir till it gains the
consistency of a slurry. I use a short stiff bristled brush to dab in the slurry and apply it
to the seam in question.
Then I make a quick wipe with a soft cloth or a finger (thumb, index finger) to whick away any
residue.
Usually in 3 to 10 minutes, depending on the relative heat, the seam is ready to be cleaned up
and painted.
Thanks for the tip, Dana!
